Things you can do with the Bible, the word of God, the scriptures, the truth, the gospel:

  • Wrest them — 2 Peter 3.16
  • Handle them deceitfully — 2 Corinthians 4.2
  • Corrupt them — 2 Corinthians 2.17
  • Make them void — Mark 7.13
  • Pervert — Galatians 1.6-9
  • Add to them — Deuteronomy 12.32; Proverbs 30.5-6; Revelation 22.18-19
  • Go beyond what they limit — Numbers 22.18; 2 John 1.9-11
  • Be ignorant of them — Matthew 22.29
  • Reject them — John 12.48
  • Hold truth in unrighteousness — Romans 1.18
  • Not love truth, but believe what is false — 2 Thessalonians 2.10-11
  • Not believe truth, but take pleasure in wickedness — 2 Thessalonians 2.12
  • Not obey truth, but obey unrighteousness — Romans 2.8

OR

  • Not go beyond what they say — 1 Corinthians 4.6
  • Rightly divide them — 2 Timothy 2.15
  • Not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoice with the truth — 1 Corinthians 13.6
  • Not judge according to appearance, but with righteous judgment — John 7.24
  • Learn how to hate every false way — Psalm 119.104
  • Handle matters wisely — Proverbs 16.20
  • Understand that God overthrows the wicked for their wickedness — Proverbs 21.12
  • Not act foolishly, but walk wisely — Proverbs 28.26
  • Get wisdom and understanding — Proverbs 4.7
  • Recognize that wisdom and understanding have greater value than gold or silver — Proverbs 16.16
