Reading
Growing up as a teenager, reading was not one of my favorite endeavors. I have gotten better about it. I have come to realize reading is informative, encouraging, enlightening, and challenging.
This is especially true with the Bible. When Paul gave Timothy instructions to “give heed to reading” (1 Timothy 4:13), he knew the exposure Timothy had with the Bible since he was “a babe” (2 Timothy 3:15). Paul knew the value of reading the Bible would “make thee wise unto salvation.” It did then and does so now.
Besides giving us wisdom, reading the Bible provides a light to our path (Psalm 119:1050. Knowing the scripture is a defense against the devil’s greatest artillery (Ephesians 6:17). The details of each passage help prevent us from acting in a shameful way (2 Timothy 2:15). Reading the Bible provides the way of salvation (Romans 1:16). God’s book is the greatest gift to every generation, because of its lasting power (1 Peter 1:25). It contains a relevant message (1 Timothy 1:8-11), and it will make man see his value and reach his potential (2 Timothy 3:16,17).
