Keeping Your Faith Alive (18)
Several people know of the need to change, but few readily admit it, especially if it involves an admission of wrong. Is that a sign of pride and perfection? Could it also indicate sufficiency?
God said, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). As long as we stand self-justified, God’s wrath is stored up for our iniquity. God desires for us to repent. If we come to Him, He is not going to bash us, but forgive us, cleanse us, and sanctify us. Do you believe He will?
God wants us to see our need for Him and not ourselves. He knows our potential is not within us but within Him (Philippians 2:13). If you refuse His help, you deny the possibilities He has in you. Being honest with God is a step toward keeping your faith alive. There is not plea bargaining with God. He is true and others are liars (Romans 3:4). Try to cover up something, and you believe more in the power you have to conquer your problems. Bring God your broken life, and He will mend it and create anew (Psalm 32:1-6). Remember, by faith we are justified with God so we might have peace (Romans 5:1). It is peace the world cannot provide, but only God can give.
