“My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?” These words from Jesus often cause us to ask, “Did God actually forsake Christ?”
God made Jesus “to be sin on our behalf”, and He was the remedy for the removal of sin. Was it Christ God forsook? It was probably the sorrow, pain, and agony of sin which God forsook. When you consider God cannot be tempted with sin and does not tempt man with sin, you can understand why He would remove himself at that moment from the utter pain and sorrow of sin. Sin was at its worst that day.
