"I Have Decided"

Some people cannot decide. “There is no more miserable human being than one in whom nothing is habitual but indecision” - Williams James.

Some have no trouble deciding. Their mind is made up quickly and and based upon:

  1. What is convenient, rather than conviction.
  2. Emotions, rather than principles of truth.
  3. Peer pressure - what others “want” me to do.
  4. Without consideration of the past.
  5. Insufficient evidence.

Our decisions could be improved if we would:

  1. Ask God for direction by prayer (James 1:5).
  2. Not RUSH. Exercise patience (Galatians 5:22,23).
  3. Search the scriptures - God’s way (Proverbs 14:12;

    Isaiah 55:8,9; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

  1. Have the right attitude - wanting to do what is right

    (1 Chronicles 28:9; Psalm 51:10).

  1. Be willing to change (Psalm 139:23,24).
  2. Get all the facts (John 8:32).
  3. Consider the decisions of others - Moses (Hebrews

11:26,27), Joshua (Joshua 24:15), Daniel (Daniel

    1:8).

Good decisions can put an end to:

  1. Doubt (Numbers 14:6-10; 2 Timothy 1:12).
  2. Wavering (1 Kings 18:21; Ephesians 4:14).
  3. Indifference (Revelation 3:15,16).
  4. Worry (Matthew 6:33).
  5. Procrastination (Acts 24:25).
