"I Have Decided"
Some people cannot decide. “There is no more miserable human being than one in whom nothing is habitual but indecision” - Williams James.
Some have no trouble deciding. Their mind is made up quickly and and based upon:
- What is convenient, rather than conviction.
- Emotions, rather than principles of truth.
- Peer pressure - what others “want” me to do.
- Without consideration of the past.
- Insufficient evidence.
Our decisions could be improved if we would:
- Ask God for direction by prayer (James 1:5).
- Not RUSH. Exercise patience (Galatians 5:22,23).
- Search the scriptures - God’s way (Proverbs 14:12;
Isaiah 55:8,9; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
- Have the right attitude - wanting to do what is right
(1 Chronicles 28:9; Psalm 51:10).
- Be willing to change (Psalm 139:23,24).
- Get all the facts (John 8:32).
- Consider the decisions of others - Moses (Hebrews
11:26,27), Joshua (Joshua 24:15), Daniel (Daniel
1:8).
Good decisions can put an end to:
- Doubt (Numbers 14:6-10; 2 Timothy 1:12).
- Wavering (1 Kings 18:21; Ephesians 4:14).
- Indifference (Revelation 3:15,16).
- Worry (Matthew 6:33).
- Procrastination (Acts 24:25).
