Jesus’ prayer in John 17 contains a petition for unity for all those who believe on Christ through the word.
Denominationalism mocks the prayer of Jesus. It keeps many from believing in Christ. It makes Him a contradictory Lord, if He has called one man to deny what another man affirms. It means Jesus is a hypocritical Lord, because He endorses doctrines that oppose one another.
Denominationalism makes Jesus incompetent in presenting a message few can understand alike. It also makes Him a polygamist, because He accepts more than one bride. Is there not one church?
