Keeping Your Faith Alive (10)
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1
When God made all things, He established whose power, will, and thought is permanent (Isaiah 55:7,8). This knowledge relieves some pressure off me. It keeps me from trying to figure out everything as if it all depended on me. Jeremiah 10:23 says it is not in me to direct my ways anyway.
Since God made heaven and earth, it shows me there is nowhere God will not go. Even if I sin, God is ready to receive me and welcome me home. He is very near (Acts 17:27). If I experienced trials or pain, God would be there. If I were sick at heart or slowed by temptation, He would be there. If I was glad or strong, God would be there.
Worry, doubt, and fear should be a thing of the past when we understand “God made”. God not only created life at the beginning, He gave it what it needed to sustain life physically and spiritually. If God cares for the birds and flowers, will He not also care for us (Matthew 6:26-33)? If God provides us salvation and hope in His Son, will He not also give us “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3; 2 Timothy 1:7)? What “God made” for us should lead us to understand we were made for Him.
