Make The Pain Go Away (2)
“Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning.”
Proverbs 7:18
Diamonds sparkle. Gold glitters. Cars shine. Sin feels good. No one tells you sin feels that way. Satan won’t. He wants you to enjoy everything he offers. Why not? You want it. You deserve it. You”love” it. What is wrong with “love”? At least you will be happy. Why are you waiting? What more could Satan offer in order for you to take your fill of whatever you want until the morning?
The most deceptive part o what Satan does to us is this: “I know in my heart God wants me to ___________.” How could we insult God to say, “He wants me to __________”, when it violates who God is, and what God wants me to do? Therefore, it is important we know how grieved (pained) God is to see us turn against HIm and who He wants us to be (Ephesians 4:30-32).
Think too about the results of fulfilling every pleasure Satan offers you. There is so much pain people experience today because of what they “enjoy” or “love”. There are people in “love” with their best friend’s wife. Some “enjoy” cheating on a test. Others “enjoy” taking illegal drugs. Some “love” beating up other people. Out of all those who “love” or “enjoy” their experiences, pain is a guaranteed result. It is pain which can last for years. For some, the pain never goes away. If you are still interested in “enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season”, read the story of Moses (Hebrews 11:24-26). He avoided the pain those in Egypt felt because what they “enjoyed” or “loved”. Face the reality. Satan will give you every reason to continue in “your pleasure”. God will give you every reason to do what pleases Him. Hard choice? Make the right one!
