Keep Your Faith Alive (6)
Patience is not only thought of as suffering long. It is steadfastness – keeping on. Behind love, patience is possibly number two or three on a list of attitudes most people lack. It never hurts to have too much of it. It would be good to have some extra in store “in case of emergency”.
“In your patience, ye shall win your souls” (Luke 21:19). What a way for the Lord to tell me I need patience in my life. And in the “daily grind” we all face people, circumstances, events, and our self. These all test how patient we are. People and things slow down, disappoint, and quit. But will we slow down and quit?
God never has slowed down or quit. He is always waiting on me (2 Peter 3:9). He is waiting on me to correct my mistakes. He is waiting on me to put Him first. He is waiting to see if this situation will get to me. He is waiting on me to pray. He is waiting on me to teach. He is waiting on me to keep my faith. He is waiting on me, when I want to quit. He is waiting on me to stop making excuses. He is waiting on me to help. He is waiting on me to trust Him. He is waiting on me to be saved. God is going to help me be patient. I need to make sure nothing gets in the way (Romans 8:35-39).
