The church of which I am a member believes in glorifying God by wearing the name He gave to His people – “Christian” (Acts 11:26). It is a name exalting His Son. Therefore, the church believes a Christian should live above reproach. We do not say they are sinless, but their life is exemplary of a life lived by the Spirit and not by the works of the flesh (Romans 8:4-10; Galatians 5:16-23). Christians are to present their life in Christ (Galatians 2:20) as lights to the world (Philippians 2:15,16).
The church believes in worshipping God “in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). Their worship is not after the tradition of men or what pleases them (Matthew 15:8,9). The church believes in prayer, singing psalms and spiritual songs, teaching, partaking of the Lord’s supper, and giving an offering unto God. All these activities are approved of by God, not man, by either command or example of Christians in the New Testament (Colossians 3:17)…
