Rate Yourself

Think for a moment why some churches do not experience numerical and spiritual growth. Do you suppose certain individuals are at fault? Read the following questions and rate yourself to see if you are the one leading the way toward a lack of growth in the kingdom of God. After considering this list, make the necessary changes in your life in order to be a part of the increase of the body (Ephesians 4:16).

1.  Am I so critical I see a person’s weak points quicker than I do his/her good points?

2.  Am I so childish everyone has to handle me with caution to keep me from getting mad?

3.  Am I so sensitive I make myself miserable by taking in a personal way everything said to

     me by others?

4.  Am I always thinking everyone else is out of step but me, and I would be happier if

     everyone else would do right?

5.  Do I hurt other people with my sharp and caustic remarks?

6.  Am I determined to have my way regardless of what it may do to others?

7.  Do I have bottled up inside me a feeling of hostility or bitterness toward another?

8.  Do I repeat what should be kept confidential, then explain what I did by saying, “But it’s

     the truth!”?

9.  Can I be completely trusted with confidence?

10.When the good reputation of another is being undermined, do I participate?

11.Do I follow after things which make for peace, or do my words and conduct promote

     strife?

12.Are others always “the problem” and not me?

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
