More About Jesus
Was Jesus a crazed individual when He claimed to be the Son of God? From the inspired text, there is no indication of a deluded Saviour. What about those who directly interacted with Him? What did they observe?
The Jews observed Him as a man who “hat a demon, and is mad…” (John 10:20), but that was not a clinical psychological diagnosis. Those words were prompted by Jesus’ profound teaching about being the Good Shepherd. They were reacting to His claim to be something beyond the norm. It had nothing to do with a chemical imbalance.
Jesus supported His claim with signs and wonders. Jesus did not just claim to BE God, He backed it up with miracles, amazing feats never seen before, and powerful teaching which reached into the depth of man. This was not a sign of a crazy man, but in truth He was the Son of God.
Jesus never showed signs of depression, ADHD, uncontrolled fits of anger, or any inappropriate emotions. He cried at the death of His friend Lazarus. He could even have a logical conversation, primarily because He had “the words of eternal life” (John 6:68).
